Master List of the "Departed" (1998-Present)
I’m tired of hearing the same lie. When someone stops showing up to the General Store, the Pastor says that they just "moved to Mobile" or "headed up North for work." We all know that it's a load of crap, but no one is willing to admit it.
I’ve been watching the highway—the only road out. No moving trucks. Just the logging trucks from the Mill. If people are 'moving away', are they just dumping everything they own here?
The List I have so far:
- Malachi Marshall (Last seen on the Highway out of town, Apr 1998, body discovered July 1998)
- Sarah Higgins (Last seen near the Abandoned Meat Packing Plant, Aug 2007)
- David 'Dusty' Reed (Never came home from the Hardware Store, Jan 2012)
- Mary-Elizabeth Kessler (Last seen near the Creek, July 2018)
- The entire Henderson family (Trailer 14, Hidden Creek, July 2020)

Why are there fresh animal bones nailed to the pines behind the Gas Station again? Pastor says it's 'warding off predators,' but we don't have wolves in Cainsfield. We never have.

Silas, delete this. You’re scaring the children. If you don't like how we run things, you’re welcome to take the highway yourself. God watches over this town. Maybe you should spend more time at the Church and less time poking around the Woods.

I’m not Silas. I don't know who that is. I just want to know why Sarah's car is still sitting in the weeds behind the Logging Mill if she 'moved to Mobile'.
